New changes to Child and Family Services Act to provide services to our youth ages from 16-17 year olds. On October 13, 2017, the ministry issued Policy Directive CW 003-17: Protection Services for 16-17 year olds to societies. The policy directive sets out requirements for the delivery of child protection services to 16-17 year olds.
The amendments to CFSA will take in effect January 2018 and our agency will be looking at some changes to our internal processes to accommodate the new changes.
Attached for your review is the Questions and Answers document to reflect questions that have been received from societies since the release of the directive. In the near future information sessions will be held in your community.
